Geoff Portwain - Guitar
Geoff started playing at 12 years old after his dad taught him the ropes. Unfortunately Geoff was so bad at the ropes that he was given a punishment. And that punishment was to Learn how to Rock! He was given a Squire telecaster, locked in a room and told not to come out until he'd mastered Smoke on the Water. Unfortunately poor Geoff thought this was a trick involving a packet of cigarettes and a bucket of water and as such didn't emerge from that room until his 23rd birthday. However when he did emerge whilst he had the lungs of 90 year old asthmatic he also had the Rock prowess of Gene Simmonds. He has played for several bands in the local area starting off as a founding member of !Daft! but luckily for us he eventually found his way to the mighty rock mountain that is 'The New Ambassadors'. Since joining as guitarist he has worked exceptionally hard and has worked his way up to guitarist in charge of gigs. He has many influences including Slash, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Kossof to name a few. He likes to play energetically and loves it when the crowd feels like part of the band! Yes folks, feels LIKE part of the band. We know what you were thinking.
